    Wedding Photography By Studio Rouge

We have been photographing weddings at Wasing Park as a family business for over 10 years and it feels even more special now than it did at our first wedding, back in 2008!

How does a wedding venue ensure couples want to hold the most important day of their life there and what makes Wasing different and attractive for a photographer?

Having worked at many wedding venues around the world we get to see a variety of locations but very few have the range of scenery, buildings and history that Wasing Park does. Weddings usually start somewhere within the grounds at Wasing, whether it is one of the cottages; Kitts Cottage or Home Farmhouse, the Grooms Room or the Honeymoon suite, you are guaranteed a ‘special’ place to capture the couple’s wedding day. From a supplier’s point of view, it is such a wonderful thing to not have to worry about the little things like… working in cramped room with no light and bad curtains!

Another little gem within Wasing Park’s huge estate is the picturesque 15th Century St Nicholas Church, nestled within the grounds, with its beautiful blossom tree framing the entrance. Many couples choose to host their wedding ceremony in the quaint little church, it has a beautiful stone tile floor, which is another bonus for us photographers – No awful carpet down the aisle! – The church is just a short walk across the lawn from the Honeymoon suite where many brides choose to get ready, walking across with your bridal party on a summer’s afternoon – now that in itself is an amazing photo opportunity.

If you are looking for a civil ceremony host your wedding in the Garden room, set back surrounded by the Castle Barn lawn, it benefits from an abundance of natural light with floor to ceiling windows and a view of the Castle Barn. As a photographer, we look for lots of light and in the Garden Room you couldn’t have more!

We also must not forget the secluded Victorian Summerhouse, set within the terrace gardens, it is completely unique to Wasing Park wedding venue, with a hand-painted mural, a truly original backdrop to photograph. Your guests are seated in the shade cast by the surrounding trees which is great for us to capture all the emotion on their faces during your ceremony.

We hate to mention the rain, but this is England after all, if you are lucky enough to get rain on your day (its meant to be good luck after all), the Victorian Summerhouse is a great undercover spot for photographers to take small group photos, think bridesmaids and Groomsman plus a few of just the two of you!

Variety is the spice of life – we like our photographs to show a range of backgrounds and scenery, from the bridal party to the couple shots we can walk around the grounds to include; The Granary, Dovecote and Smithy, Castle Barn, Victorian Summerhouse and Church, the numerous open spaces with stunning views, variety of mature gardens and the famous tree lined main driveway, we can honestly say there are more grounds and settings than you could ever use.

One of our favourite things to do at any wedding is to get the couple out in the evening for some photographs during ‘golden hour’ – to be able to make the most of this amazing light we need to access large open spaces, of which there a plenty of at Wasing Park. Most couples love to take this opportunity after the meal and speeches, not just to get some truly amazing and original photographs, but really appreciate a moment or two alone soaking in the sunset and the day that they have had of far, before the real party starts!

    Weddings and Private Events Venue

The buzz of happy couples and wedding guests visiting The Wasing Estate to enjoy the happiest of days has been replaced in recent months by the hum of an army of gardeners, decorators, builders and even a top artist making wonderful improvements to the venue.

The team at Wasing pride themselves on keeping the venue and estate in tip top condition, and during this time without weddings they have made the most of finessing things in readiness to welcome back weddings.

Thanks to the incredible hard work of all the team, the exterior paintwork of the venue and the church tower are looking like new.

In front of the Castle Barn, landscaping has also been high on the agenda and is nearing completion.  Starting at the car park, an inviting gateway opens up to a beautifully planted new garden area with a meandering path, huge raised beds, oversized terracotta pots and seating areas leading to a prominent water feature.

Other wonderful improvements include a stunning mural in The Stables bar created by artist Frederick Wimsett.

Frederick Wimsett’s work, often inspired by 18th century chinoiserie, is already in the homes of many well-known and stylish Brits, including Alice Temperley, Kate Moss, Rita Ora and Paul O’Grady. His work is also featured at Christie’s auction house and he was commissioned by St Christopher’s Place to paint a three-metre-high portrait of the Queen to commemorate her 90th birthday.

The bespoke artistic design at Wasing incorporates physical and spiritual components that represent the past, present and future of the Wasing Estate.

Look out for this wonderful mural when you next visit. See if you can spot the delicate wild butterflies and the resident wildlife at Wasing. The Walled Garden and St Nicholas Parish Church are beautifully depicted as are many feathered friends including egrets flying over the lake, red kites soaring overhead and the most stunning pheasant in-flight.

A compass represents the family’s history in mapping and there is even a handsome fox – an animal that is featured on the family crest.

We are so looking forward to opening our doors again and hearing the sounds of celebration once more.

  • From Wedding Venue To Weekend Breaks

From Wedding Venue To Weekend Breaks

Back in March, Wasing Park had to close its doors, a wedding venue accustomed to daily celebrations, it sat empty and quiet for months. We were missing our couples, the buzz of excited guests and wedding day smiles.

Over the years we were often asked by couples who got married at Wasing, “can I come back and stay?” Unfortunately, the answer was almost always no, we were simply too busy with weddings and events.

With the need to escape to the countryside for a change of scenery, and staycations one of the only ways to get away this year, we decided to open up as a hotel allowing couples and their families to return to Wasing to stay for the weekend.

Guests who book one of our weekend breaks can stay in some of the most unique hotel accommodation in the country including the stunning grade II listed Granary sat atop staddle stones, the Smithy, a former blacksmith’s shop now a large beautiful boutique bedroom and the Dovecote, a very unique, cylindrical two-story building featuring a free-standing copper bath.

The first couple to come back through the door, on our opening weekend in October, were Emma and Dean, married back in October 2016, it was the perfect anniversary celebration.

“We never thought we would get the opportunity to go back to Wasing, so we were really excited when we got the email through – even more so when we found out that we could book the honeymoon suite.”

We want to make all our returning couples and new guests feel extra special when arriving at Wasing. As well as a complimentary welcome drink while you are settling in to your unique room, we are also including a beautiful, well stocked hamper, ready for your arrival, which can be restocked each day of your stay!

“The hamper on arrival was a lovely touch and it was great that you could get a re-fill. It was also lovely to share a glass of champagne when we arrived.”

“After checking in we spent a bit of time walking around the venue, remembering our wedding day, which was lovely.”

Wasing has extensive grounds which offer endless walks and cycles through the woods, around the lakes and along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. If you are a keen angler you can bring your own equipment and enjoy fishing on one of our stunning woodland lakes.

    Images by Studio Rouge

“We knew the grounds at Wasing were enormous, so were also looking forward to being able to explore a bit more and see more than just the wedding venue. We really enjoy fishing and knew that Wasing had some really amazing lakes – they even held the record for the largest carp in the UK at one point, so it was really exciting for us to be able to go and have a walk round them and even fish one of the smaller lakes”

One thing our couples and their guests always comment on, is how fantastic the food was on the wedding day! So, we knew food had to be a big part of our weekend break offering.

“The food is amazing at Wasing Park and I think in terms of our hotel stay, this would be our favourite thing.”

Our Executive Chef, Stu Tyler designed varied, delicious and sustainable menus for the weekend. The a la carte menu, with ‘Estate to Plate’ offerings, such as Wasing’s braised venison shank, is served on Friday evenings. Making the most of the magical woodland venue at Wasing, for lunch on Saturday and Sunday you are offered the opportunity book an alfresco, cook your own experience, under the guidance of Wasing’s chef.

“The chef is a lovely guy – very laid back, which meant the experience was very chilled out and fun. It was nice to get involved in a bit of cooking. The food was delicious, we couldn’t finish it all, so we took it away and had the rest as a mid-afternoon snack while we were fishing.”

On Saturday evening all our guests are seated for an amazing foodie experience, ‘A Taste of Wasing’, an indulgent six-course tasting menu, made even more special with our paired wines, giving you the perfect glass of wine to complement each course. A less formal event for Sunday dinner, the ‘Lazy Sunday’ menu is a variety of warming, hearty dishes.

    Images by Studio Rouge

The tasting menu was the best part of the weekend – absolutely amazing! Every course was faultless. The size of the dishes was great, and there was a good break between each course, so we didn’t get full too quickly. I don’t remember there being anything but clean plates after every single course. It was nice to have the option to have the wine matching with the meal and would definitely recommend this.”

Wasing’s weekend breaks start at £195 per room, per night for bed and breakfast and suites start at £225 per room, per night for bed and breakfast. The hotel weekend breaks are mostly offered on a minimum two-night basis, however we do have some one night stays available so please click here to check our calendar or pop us an email to bookings@wasing.co.uk.

“The staff at Wasing Park took all the stress out of our wedding day. It felt like they really cared about making the day special and knew exactly how to make the day go without a hitch. When we returned for our weekend stay, we felt like we got the same great service from everyone at Wasing. Can’t wait to come back – we’d like to stay in either The Smithy or The Granary next time.

We’d like to thank everyone who worked at Wasing Park over the weekend – everyone was so helpful, accommodating and did everything they could to make the experience a really enjoyable one.”

Wasing Park Love Stories // Emily & Ryan 26.07.25

Emily and Ryan’s wedding on 26th July 2025 was a picture-perfect summer celebration at Wasing Park. With exclusive use of the estate, the couple enjoyed a day filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. From their heartfelt ceremony in the newly renovated Garden Room to dancing across the lawns at golden hour.

The morning began in the Honeymoon Suite, where Emily shared a special bridal reveal with her loved ones. Hair and makeup were expertly handled by A Finishing Touch, ensuring everyone looked their best for the big day.

Ryan and his groomsmen enjoyed a pre-wedding tipple after dressing in the Grooms Room, just a stone’s throw from the bar. Think Old Money glamour, set amongst the rich leather, time-honoured books, and hand-painted mural of the Stables Bar.

Their ceremony took place in the newly renovated Garden Room, a warm and characterful space filled with natural light and framed by views of the Castle Barn. The rustic oak beams, aged brickwork, and sliding glass doors created a magical setting for their vows, perfectly combining elegance and intimacy.

Much of their day was spent outside in Wasing’s immaculate grounds, offering a true connection to nature. Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the terrace, taking in views across the gardens and lawns, while sharing in the excitement of the newlyweds’ celebration. Couples planning their own Wasing wedding can choose to incorporate seasonal English flowers from the Estate’s Walled Garden, with arrangements lovingly composted after the day — a beautiful way to celebrate sustainability while adding a natural, personal touch.

After the ceremony, Emily, Ryan, and their bridal party captured joyful photos along the sweeping driveway and amidst the gardens. The couple also wandered the estate to find locations for intimate couples’ portraits, guided by Studio Rouge Photography, one of Wasing Park’s chosen suppliers, who beautifully captured their quiet, romantic moments.

Guests enjoyed a delicious estate-to-plate dining experience, featuring locally sourced dishes from Wasing’s organic farm — a reflection of the venue’s commitment to sustainability — before dancing late into the evening in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

As the day moved into golden hour, guests danced across the lawns to the smooth tones of Dan the Saxophonist, before continuing the party in the iconic Castle Barn. The rustic space was enhanced by twinkling lights from Party Lights and live music from Charlotte & Chris – Acoustic Duo, followed by the energetic Pyro Band.

It was a true joy to see their vision come to life, from the first smile in the Honeymoon Suite to dancing at golden hour on the lawns. Their day perfectly captured the magic of Wasing, combining rustic elegance, a deep connection to nature, personal touches, and the warmth of friends and family.

Wasing Love Stories // Hannah & Matt 04.07.25

A Love Story 10 Years In The Making

In the way that Vivienne Westwood combines historic design with modern cuts, Wasing too brings together the grandeur of tradition with a modern elegance to offer an elevated wedding experience where both the couple and their guests can live out their dream day in an exclusive use setting.

“A bride who doesn’t do things by halves” as declared by her loving groom Matt, Hannah and Matt came to Wasing with a dream of creating a wedding steeped in glamour and tradition, while bringing a fun, relaxed atmosphere for their guests to feel as special as they did, on their dream day.

Their mornings were joyful, Hannah and her maids, with room to sing and dance the morning away in the honeymoon suite. Matt and his entourage making the most of the grooms room, overlooking the courtyard, beside the stables bar, hugging and greeting their chic guests as they arrived.

The joy and smiles didn’t stop there as everyone made their way through the gardens to the Victorian Summerhouse, an idyllic backdrop nestled within the Berkshire countryside. Its hand-painted mural encapsulates the surrounding blossom trees, wildlife, flora & fauna, making for a truly beautiful ceremony.

The Castle Barn is the ultimate space for wedding receptions. With a blank canvas of soft red brick walls filled with arrow slits, Hannah and Matt personalised their wedding and decorated the barn with a soft palette of trending yellow and peach hues, beautiful hand-written place settings on handmade parchment, and beautifully scented candles to set the scene.

And with wonderful menus to suit every taste and style, our head chefs and enthusiastic team delight guests with our ‘Nose to Tail’ menu including beef from our wonderful herd of red Sussex cattle, fruit from our orchards and herbs from our fields and gardens.

Wasing’s Farm has achieved its organic status, and its produce is served directly from the farm with an estate-to-plate ethos.

With countless breathtaking backdrops, Hannah and Matt took time to contemplate their day while strolling the grounds, smiling for the camera and absorbing the moments with each other as husband and wife. All beautifully captured by the talented @luciewatsonphotography

A Chic July Wedding in the English Countryside

Set against the lush backdrop of Wasing Park in high summer, this effortlessly stylish July wedding was a masterclass in modern elegance.

The day began with a moment that set the tone for everything to follow: a quiet, emotional father-daughter reveal in the Honeymoon suite. It was the kind of moment that reminded everyone present that this day was all about connection.

The ceremony unfolded in Wasing’s immaculately manicured gardens, framed by the Victorian Summerhouse, where the couple said “I do” beneath the blue skies and greenery. Nature did her part, but so did the styling… grounded in timeless details.

The groomsmen wore Black tie, but far from traditional. The bride’s inner circle redefined bridesmaid style in white silk dresses, exuding quiet glamour with a fashion-forward edge. Think minimalism meets old-world romance.

Golden Hour delivered, as it always does at Wasing, with fun, flirty bridal party portraits that balanced romance and playfulness. @hollyflorencephotography captured it all with her signature style: editorial, authentic, and impossibly dreamy.

Guests were welcomed into the Castle Barn for a dinner that did more than just look good. Wasing’s farm has officially achieved organic status, and its ethos was brought to life in the ‘Nose to Tail’ menu, featuring produce straight from the estate, including standout Red Sussex beef from Wasing’s own herd. It was local, luxurious, and totally in step with today’s conscious approach to celebration.

From there, the party hit a new level thanks to @thefunctionband, who turned the barn into a dancefloor no one wanted to leave. Every detail was on point: stationery design by @loveflorastudioco_, sleek styling from @etiquetteeventhire, beauty by @amyrichardsmakeup and @riothairdressing.

It was polished, personal, and full of energy, the kind of wedding that hits the perfect note between trend and tradition.

Save the date for our Autumn Showcase!

    Sunday 24th September & Monday 25th September 2023

You’re invited to explore Wasing’s award-winning barn wedding venue in the heart of Berkshire. Take a stroll through the magnificent Castle Barn; a blank canvas of soft red brick walls filled with arrow slits, the picturesque parish Church of St. Nicholas, the idyllic Victorian Summerhouse embellished with an intricate hand-painted mural, perfect for outdoor weddings, and the contemporary Garden Room with its walls of glass bi-fold doors, boasting stunning views.

Wasing will be dressed with fairy lights, candles and decor from our fantastic suppliers all in keeping with this years theme; wildflowers. Allowing you to piece together your big day with ease. You can personalise your wedding by decorating the barn in your style. It is truly the ultimate space in which to celebrate your wedding.

At the venue, there are 26 stylish bedrooms sleeping up to 64 people. Every bedroom boasts a bespoke design and absolute luxury within an elegant historical setting.

The unique rooms will be available for you to include in your wedding, including the Grade II listed Granary sat proudly on its staddle stones, a fairy tale Dovecote, the Smithy and a Honeymoon Suite, with the biggest bed in Berkshire.

Following your visit, relax and enjoy pizza and prosecco beneath the stretch tent floating over the terrace at the back of the Castle Barn whilst talking through your wedding day plans with one of our expert events team.

Meet the team, get inspiration and book the wedding venue of your dreams!
